Armenian Police delegation visits Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs

On Tuesday October 21, 2014, a biletaral meeting between Police Colonel Gagik Avetisyan, Head of the General Department of Criminal Intelligence of the RA Police, and Police Colonel Ivane Papiashvili, Director of the Georgian MIA Central Criminal Police Department, took place in Tbilisi witihin the frames of the Armenian delegation’s visit to the Georgian MIA.
Present at the meeting were: Head of Tavush Marz Department of the RA Police, Police Colonel A. Gevorgyan, Head of Shirak Marz Department of the RA Police, Police Colonel V. Nadaryan, Head of Lori Marz Department, Police Colonel A. Karapetyan, Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department of the RA Police Headquarters, Police Colonel A. Arabyan, Deputy Director of the Georgian MIA Central Criminal Police Department, Police Colonel Otari Mirzoyev, Director of the International relations Department, Police Major Shalva Kvinikhidze, Head of Kvemo Kartli regional Department, Police Colonel Levan Kvitsiani, Head of Samtskhe-Javakheti regional Department, Police Lieutenant Colonel Teimuraz Kalandadze and Atache of the Georgian MIA in the RA, Police Captain Kamo Galustyan.
Issues regarding activities associated with operational service were discussed during the official meeting.
With the view of intensification of the cross-border cooperation between the RA Police and the Georgian MIA the top brass present at the meeting reached agreement to improve the exchange of operational data and information in the following directions:

-  search for fugitives and missing persons,
-  illegal transfer of narcotic drugs,
-  car theft,
-  burglary and etc.
During the meeting the two sides highly assesed the  existing cooperation among Armenian and Georgian law enforcement agencies.
Within the framework of the visit Armenian delegates were hosted at the "112" service of the Georgian MIA where all the data on the criminal situation in Georgia is accumulated and processed.
The Armenian delegates also visited the Old Tbilisi police division of the Georgian MIA, where they got familiarized with the working conditions, technical equipment and the service organization process.
