RA Police give warm welcome to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Armenia John Heffern  (VIDEO and PHOTOS)


On September 24 RA police chief, Lieutenant General Vladimir Gasparyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Armenia John Heffern.
Touching upon the recent civic actions Jhon Heffern attached a great importance to the fact that police officers basically displayed tolerance and refrained from use of force during those actions . Mister Ambassador also took an interest in the incidents involving some civic activists, stating that he had periodically familiarized himself with the Police statements refferring to those incidents.
Vladimir Gasparyan introduced the Police leadership's position on those cases, informed about the process of investigation initiated in connection with the mentioned facts, as well as spoke about the preventive measures aimed at elimination of those incidents.
John Heffern expressed hope that police of the Republic of Armenia will adhere to its policy, accomplishing its mission of protection of human rights and public order.
Vladimir Gasparyan stated that the RA police keep on acting openly, transparently and publicly, and is determined to fulfil its commitment of completing the process of reforms aimed at forming a Police which enjoy public confidence.
During the meeting the parties discussed other issues of mutual interest as well.
