STATEMENT OF POLICE OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA

30.12.2015 14:20 Statements and announcements
STATEMENT OF POLICE OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA

Dear compatriots! Christmas and New Year holidays are approaching!

As in previous years, this year too Traffic Police will be carrying out an enhanced service in the settlements and highways of the republic on New Year’s Eve and during the following holidays.
Last year's experience shows that strict attitude and prompt response to any offense during holidays dramatically reduce the number of deaths and injuries in road accidents.
Police will carry out its functions in full scope and with the utmost severity, expecting high sense of justice and assistance from citizens.
Dear drivers!
Remember that You bear responsibility not only for Yourselves, but for Your relatives and all the road users, as well. Don't endanger Your life and the life of others.
When driving a car abstain from drinking alcohol completely. During its enhanced service Police would not show any leniency to drunk drivers: an offender will be held liable, the passengers will be taken home by police, the vehicles will be evacuated and taken to the Traffic Police penalty area.
Dear parents!
During the upcoming holidays pay special attention to the minors. Protect them from the temptations of using alcohol and driving even more. You are kindly requested to assist the police in protecting children's safety. Let's make every effort not to let any accidents and unpleasant incidents overshadow the holiday.
Dear compatriots!
Police are calling on to strictly adhere to the security rules when conducting fireworks.
In accord with the Governmental decree dated August 9, 2012, conduct of fireworks is allowed from 11 p.m., December 31 to 1:00 a.m., January 1. Let's not forget that there are old and sick people, minor children among us, let's not disrupt their peace, not endanger their health or to cause them anxiety.
But apart from the written laws, there are also unwritten laws — rules of coexistence, the observance of which is the moral obligation of each of us.
Police are once more calling on to adhere to the letter and spirit of all laws, show respect and care for each other.
We congratulate You on the upcoming New Year and Christmas holidays wishing You a safe year, prosperity and happiness.
