Holiday festivities

Today the red-letter day of Police of the Republic of Armenia is celebrated. 95 years on the frontline of maintenance of public order and fight against crime.
The professional holiday of police officers was celebrated as an important occasion.
The members of the Police college, high ranking police officers, veterans and guests, in the lead of the police chief, Lieutenant General Vladimir Gasparyan , paying a tribute of respect and gratitude to all the generations of Armenian police officers, put wreathes on the monuments to Aram Manukyan and “Soldier of law and order”.
The holiday continued in the conference hall.
To the strains of the march the flags of the Republic of Armenia and the police were was brought in.
The message of the president of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan was proclaimed.
A group of police officers were awarded on behalf of the president of Armenia.
On occasion of the Police day the acting prime minister Tigran Sarsgyan gave a congratulatory speech, highly appreciating the activities of the police.
The police chief Vladimir Gasparyan extended his warmest congratulations to his colleagues, partly, emphasizing the following: «We have accepted and we bear the good, our ancestors left. We are aslso trying to do our best, to improve and meet the lacks».
Yerevan city mayor Taron Margaryan, National security Council secretary Artur Baghdasaryan congratulated police officers on occasion of the professional holiday and presented them awards.
Congratulation messages were received from the RA Minister of Justice, Prosecutor General, head of police of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, Ministers of Defense and Emergency Situations, a number of officers were awarded by them.
95-year-old veterans Shushik Grigoryan and Avetiq Hakobyan, 89-year-old Nikolay Meliqjanyan partook in the holiday festivities and were also paid awards and honor.
A group of the best officers were awarded by the police chief.

The police holiday was also celebrated in the General department of state protection. The relatives of the officers, who fell victim protecting state boundaries, as well as veterans partook in the event.
The officers of the General department of State protection and the relatives of the victims put flowers on the memorial to the victims.
Afterwards the head of the General Department of State protection Roma Mkrtumyan had a talk with the victims' relatives, assuring that they are always standing by.

The second part of the event dedicated to the 95-th anniversary of the police, took place in the conference hall, where the police chief Vladimir Gasparyan's message was proclaimed and later the police officers who had been encouraged by the police chief 's decree, were paid awards.
The festivities ended with festive concert.
