THE POLICE ARE ENSURING THE SAFETY OF RAFFI HOVHANNISYAN'S PLACE OF RESIDENCE

The police of the Republic of Armenia state that both in the preparatory period of the presidential elections and on the Election day, 18.02.2013, the police services took all the possible measures to ensure public order, prevent offences and other manifestations of antisocial behavior, as well as ensure the normal course of the elections. Organizational and current measures were undertaken for unimpeded realization of the citizens’, presidential candidates’, their authorized delegates’ and observers’ rights.
Ipso facto, we inform that a few reports on acts of violence against the authorized pdelegates of the presidential candidates and journalists were received in the course of the presidential elections. To those reports, as well as to all the others, the police of the Republic of Armenia reacted immediately and they are being verified in the proper procedure.
On February 19, 2013, the police of the RA received a report about presidential candidate of the Republic of Armenia, head of the party “Heritage” Raffi Hovhannisyan's oral request to the Police chief of the Republic of Armenia to ensure safety of his place of residence and by the RA police chief’s order issued on the same day the corresponding subdivisions were charged to organize twenty-four-hour protection of the presidential candidate’s place of residence.
