Police officers detect a 15-year murder
On September 18 Armen Shahbazyan, DOB 1967, a resident of Goghovit village, Shirak province, previously convicted 4 times, was detained on the basis of the operational data received by The Criminal intelligence unit of Yerevan city department of the RA police. The detainee was brought to the General department of criminal intelligence of the RA police.
Thanks to the measures taken by police officers, Shahbazyan pleaded guilty and told the policemen that in 1998 he and Diana, a friend of his, argued about money in his paternal house, meanwhile Shahbazyan delivered blows to Diana with his hand, and the latter lost her consciousness and deceased a bit later.
To evade the subsequent punishment,  Shahbazyan buried the girl's body at the wall of a building near his house.
On the night of September 19 the officers of the General department of criminal intelligence, along with those of Shirak provincial department and the 3-rd battalion of the Patrol and Inspection service of Yerevan city department of the RA police arrived in Goghovit village.
After the examination of the place Shahbazyan pointed, police officers found bones of human skeleton.
The circumstances of the incident are being looked into.
The prepared materials were filed and sent to the Department of investigation of especially important cases of Yerevan city department of the RA police.
