STATEMENT

As previously reported, under the instruction of Head of Police of the Republic of Armenia Vladimir Gasparyan, in connection with the the incidents that occurred in Yerevan’s Sari Tagh on July 29-30 internal investigations were immediately launched in the Department of Internal Security of the RA Police on the facts of both excessive use of force by police officers and use of violence against media representatives and damage inflicted to their equipment.
Vladimir Gasparyan has instructed the Heads of operative services to identify and detect the civilians involved in the incident who provoked the clashes and used violence against the assembly participants, journalists and police officers.
