The Information and Public Relations Department of the RA Police hosts a regular press conference (VIDEO)

On Thursday, November 27, 2014, the Information and Public Relations Department of Police of the Republic of Armenia hosted a press conference with Deputy Head of the RA Police, Police Colonel Samvel Hovhannisyan and First Deputy Head of the General Department of State Protection of the RA Police, Police Colonel Vardan Minasyan.
At the news conference Mr. Hovhanisyan and Mr. Minasyan reported about the main activities of the General Department of State Protection of the RA Police and services offered by the GDSP during the first 10 months of 2014.
Overall, 3946 objects are protected by the General Department of State Protection of the RA Police.
The GDSP activities are aimed at ensuring personal safety and property protection, as well as assisting in the detection and prevention of criminal behaviour and protection of public order.
Thus, during the past 10 months, 103 crimes have been solved and 267 crime suspects and law-breakers have been detained with the assistance of GDSP officers, thanks to the explanatory measures taken by them, dozens of citizens have handed in illegally held guns and ammunition to the Police.
The Personal Safety and Property protection division of the GDSP offers bodyguard services both in the territory of the Republic of Armenia and abroad, in accordance with its client's wishes.
To facilitate the organizational arrangements and improve the protective services, measures are taken to adopt new methods and apply new technologies. A central monitoring station will be set up in 2015 which is due to improve the protection service and secure the safety of every citizen as much as possible.
Panic buttons will be provided to all those citizens who will apply for the GDSP services: in case of danger fast reaction groups will arrive at the scene within the shortest possible time.
Flats, houses and various buildings will be equipped with security signals.
At the end of the press conference Mr. Hovhannisyan and Mr. Minasyan answered all the questions posed by journalists.
