Police Chief receives the delegation of OSCE office in Yerevan

On February 28 Head of Police of the Republic of Armenia, Lieutenant General Vladimir Gasparyan received the delegation led by head of the OSCE office in Yerevan, Ambassador Andrey Sorokin. The annual program of cooperation between OSCE office in Yerevan and Police of the Republic of Armenia for 2014 was presented during the meeting.
Ambassador Andrey Sorokin noted that OSCE office in Yerevan attaches great importance to cooperation with Armenian Police and is determined to further strengthen the well-established partnership.
Touching upon the current reforms in police system, Vladimir Gasparyan stated that the transition period is already left behind and Police of the Republic of Armenia, adhering to its principles and tasks, continues the implementation of its radical reform strategy.
The Police chief especially emphasized the significance of improvement of moral and psychological climate in police structural subdivisions and increase of transparency of police activities. The Police Chief expressed an opinion that this will surely help to reduce the corruption risks and guarantee safeguard against corruption in Police system.  
Andrey Sorokin in turn expressed his satisfaction with the steps taken by the Police of the Republic of Armenia and assured of their readiness to help the Police whenever the latter needs their  assistance.
During the meeting the parties discussed other issues of mutual interest as well.
