Chief of Police Receives the Ambassador of Japan to Armenia

On October 3, the Chief of Police of The Republic of Armenia, Police Major General Vahe Ghazaryan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Armenia, H.E. Mr. Masanori Fukushima.

Welcoming the guests, Vahe Ghazaryan emphasized the close cooperation established between the Armenian Police and the Japanese Embassy and expressed confidence that the meeting would serve to further develop bilateral cooperation.

Masanori Fukushima expressed condolences in connection with the victims of the hostilities that took place in September near the borders of Armenia.

The Ambassador spoke about the promising areas of cooperation, in particular, the training of Armenian police officers, as well as the fight against cybercrime and drug trafficking via the Internet.

They also discussed the problems of the activity of the patrol service and its implementation in the regions of Armenia.

Vahe Ghazaryan expressed thankfulness to the international partners for their support. Masanori Fukushima, in turn, recorded visible positive changes in the work of the patrol service in Armenia.

Deputy Chief of Police Ara Fidanyan presented the process of reforming the police: planned structural changes, legislative initiatives, measures to combat certain types of crimes. The details of the implementation of the patrol service in the regions of Armenia were also presented.

They also discussed further areas of cooperation, as well as other matters of mutual interest.
