Dear compatriots!

28.04.2018 14:29 Herald of Police
Dear compatriots!

Dear compatriots!
Just like each citizen of the Republic of Armenia, each employee of the RA Police hopes that on May 1, 2018, in the legislative body of the Republic of Armenia, in accordance with the letter and spirit of the Constitution, the crisis will be unleashed, and our republic will continue to live a peaceful life. Within the limits of their competence provided by the law, the Police will spare no effort to protect the life and health of the participant of the peaceful assembly and to protect the safety of property; we have not taken and will not take any action that complicates the situation further.
At the same time, we are concerned about some information that has come to our attention. There is a potential danger that some radical groups, taking advantage of this situation, can take group provocative actions in an attempt to provoke clashes with police officers.
We would hereby like to ask all the organizers of the meeting to keep in focus all the processes occurring during the rally, to remove from the venue of the meeting all those persons who will make calls for violence, hatred and other forms of intolerance, to form the necessary numbers of «managers» stipulated by the RA Law “On Freedom of Assemblies”, who will wear white visually recognizable insignia with the word “manager” written on them, so that it will be possible to ensure cooperation with the police and to contact the police in a timely manner in order to remove from the venue of the meeting persons who grossly violate the peaceful and normal course of the meeting and as well as to exclude attempts to obstruct the actions of the police officers in their isolation.
Police inform that security measures will be taken to ensure the smooth functioning of the National Assembly and a number of state bodies, which will also include restrictions on the movement of vehicles and pedestrians in accordance with article 22 of the RA Law “On Police”.
Police warn that illegal attempts to bypass restrictions, pressure on policemen or attempts to enter police buildings and other objects subject to state protection will be unconditionally assessed as acts of violence, for the suppression of which the police will take all measures provided by law.
Police, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, fully control the criminal situation in the republic, any threat to public safety is predictable for the Police, and any situation is manageable.
Again, we declare that the Police are not a subject of political processes and they are dedicated solely to the unconditional protection of the constitutional order.
