The delegation of the European Council visits the Armenian Police (VIDEO and PHOTOS)

On Wednesday, October 25 Head of the Headquarter of Police of the Republic of Armenia, Police Colonel Hovhannes Kocharyan met with the delegation led by Mr. Alexander Gessel, Director of the Political Affairs Directorate of Council of Europe.
Greeting the guests, Hovhannes Kocharyan highlighted the importance of the annually strengthening cooperation between the two partner structures and expressed hope that it will further deepen.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome, Mr. Alexander Gessel expressed satisfaction with the results of interaction and positively assessed the results of the reforms undertaken by Armenian Police.
During the meeting the two sides discussed structural and organizational issues facing Police in the context of Constitutional amendments, the participants also addressed issues related to measures taken in the sphere of combating domestic violence and protection of juveniles and their rights, as well as the exclusion of torture or mistreatment of citizens. The Armenian side presented the sphere statistics and relevant legislative initiatives.
The meeting was held in a productive working atmosphere.
