Man wanted for rape detained after 16-year hunt

On Wednesday September 17 at 5:40 a.m. Russian citizen Mayis B., DOB 1958, was detained at Bagratashen checkpoint following special measures taken by officers of Bagratashen division of the RA Police. The detainee had been wanted under the RA Criminal Code, article 138, part 1 /rape/ since November 12, 1998.
Custody has been selected as a measure of restraint. 
The initiator of the intelligence was notified of Mayis B.'s detention.
