The United States is Ready to Continue the Effective Partnership and Support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs

On March 24th, Vahe Ghazaryan, the RA Minister of Internal Affairs, received Christina Quinn, the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Armenia. Present at the meeting were Arpine Sargsyan, RA Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Armen Mkrtchyan, Head of the Police Headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Alexis Haftvani, Director of the U.S. Embassy Yerevan’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL).
Vahe Ghazaryan warmly welcomed the ambassador and congratulated her on assuming her new post. The Minister expressed his appreciation for the 30-year long and effective cooperation between Armenia and the USA, which is based on the common values of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.
The Minister expressed his gratitude for the support provided to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and its subordinate services, particularly emphasizing the support provided by the Anti-Narcotics and Law Enforcement Cooperation Program of the US Embassy to the police, as well as the support provided to the rescue service by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.
Christina Quinn expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome and highlighted the successful projects implemented through the cooperation. She also expressed her determination to continue supporting the reforms initiated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary specifically mentioned the positive results shown by the creation of the patrol service.
During the meeting, issues of bilateral interest were discussed, including the work of forming the educational complex of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the water patrol service, and the involvement of women in the services.
