Statement

26.07.2016 10:11 Statements and announcements

Late in the evening of July 25, between 10 p.m. and midnight, the armed group members in the territory of the Patrol-Sentry Service regiment of the Police first burned out the Police bus, parked outside the territory of the regiment, in the street, then drove out two more cars into the street and burnt them out there. Meanwhile, from the territory of the regiment shots were periodically fired.
About 1 a.m. Police «UAZ» vehicle left the territory of the regiment and moved towards the police cordon near Erebuni police division. The car approached the cordon, after which police officers opened fire on the car engine to stop the vehicle and prevent the real danger arising directly from the armed persons in it. The car took a half-turn to the left, shots were fired out of the car, after which law enforcers opened fire on the car tires. Shots were fired in response, but the law enforcers didn't respond to them.
Two of the three persons in the car were injured in the shooting and the "UAZ" retreated to the territory of the regiment.
The law enforcers immediately called the ambulance, suggested taking the injured persons to the hospital and received the agreement of the members of the armed group.
At present two injured persons, namely  Ashot Petrosyan and Hovhannes Harutyunyan,  are in the hospital and are provided with necessary medical assistance.
