Minister of Internal Affairs Receives Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Iran Concluding Diplomatic Mission in Armenia

On June 22, RA Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri.
In extending a warm welcome to the esteemed guest, Minister Ghazaryan expressed sincere appreciation for the amicable relations that have developed between our two nations. He placed great emphasis on the significance of bilateral collaboration in the realm of law enforcement, a vital undertaking that has been effectively pursued under the Memorandum of Understanding “On the cooperation between the Police of the Republic of Armenia and the Minsitry of internal affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran” which was documented on July 10, 2012.
Minister Vahe Ghazaryan placed special emphasis on the crucial battle against illicit drug trafficking, underscoring its significance in our joint efforts. Furthermore, he drew attention to the commendable cooperation between the national central bureaus of Interpol in both nations. This collaboration has been instrumental in various domains, including the detection of wanted persons, combating cybercrime, addressing economic offenses, and numerous other pertinent areas.
Recognizing the conclusion of the ambassador's diplomatic tenure in Armenia, Vahe Ghazaryan expressed appreciation for his significant personal contributions to the enhancement of Armenian-Iranian relations. Ghazaryan extended his heartfelt wishes for the ambassador's future endeavors, conveying hopes for his continued success.
Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri conveyed gratitude for the warm reception and placed high value on the amicable relations and fruitful cooperation between Armenia and Iran, which hold deep-rooted traditions. The exchange of experiences among the employees of the two countries' ministries of internal affairs, along with various other topics of mutual interest, were thoroughly discussed during the meeting.
Both parties demonstrated a strong commitment to further fortify their bilateral cooperation.
