Murder in Vanadzor

At 13:35 on October 12 Taron Police division received a report from “Vanadzor” medical centre on Yerevan resident David Hovakimyan’s, DOB 1998, hospitalization with the diagnosis of “stab wound to chest”. According to the doctor, David Hovakimyan was in no condition to give  a statement to the police.
About 22:00 on the same day D. Hovhakimyan deceased in hospital.
The criminal case initiated in connection with the given case was re-qualified from article 112, section 1 to article 104, section 1 of the Criminal code of the Republic of Armenia.
Thanks to the measures taken by officers of Lori provincial department and Taron police division, Karen K, DOB 1991 , a.k.a. “Kurd”, was persuited and detained without delay. The detainee was previously convicted.
Police officer found out that about 19:20 on October 12 Karen K. had a conflict with Hovakimyan during which he stabed Hovakimyan with knife, causing the latter's death.
Preliminary investiagtion is underway.
