Stepanavan murder case solved in "hot pursuit"

At 00:40 on October 16 Stepanavan police division received a report from «Stepanavan» medical centre informing that Ara Hakhverdyan's, DOB 1970, body was taken to the medical centre from Arevelyan street, Stepanavan. The diagnosis was as follows: “incised and stab wound of chest and incised wound of right shank”.
Thanks to the measures taken by officers of Stepanavan division and Lori provincial Investigative divisions of police of the Republic of Armenia, it was established that A. Hakhverdyan was stabbed to death by Aren Harutyunyan, DOB 1989, in one of the apartments at 6 Arevelyan street during a quarrel started about 00:00 on October 16.
The knife – crime instrument – has been seized.
Aren Harutyunyan is arrested.
Police initiated a criminal case under article 104, section 1 of the Criminal code of the Republic of Armenia.
Preliminary investigation is underway.
